South Africa is a land of exceptional beauty with many different hunting terrains and huntable game species. Some game species are restricted to certain areas and "trophy" quality can vary too. It is vital, therefore, that we know in advance what species are required so that we can plan the hunt accordingly. The average recommended hunting safari is 10 days; this will allow you quality, unrushed hunting time. Although the best time of year to visit would be March – October, trophy hunting takes place throughout the year. The winters (May – August) are dry and normally cold, with summers (September – April) being wet and hot. Hunting is done by means of walk and stalk.

The .375 is probably the best suited all round rifle, but medium calibres such as .270, 30-06 or .300 can also be used. Make sure the rifle and scope are in good working order before the safari. It is also advisable to bring a rifle cleaning kit and to ensure the rifle is in a secure gun case. At least 40 rounds of ammunition should be brought with each gun.

This historic farm house was built during the Anglo Boer War (1899 – 1902). The lodge has both cold and hot running water, a daily laundry service and flush toilets.
